So if it's up to, then I would think it would be reasonable to assume that you're not going to get the 7%, I suspect that's only ever achieved in perfect conditions, so if you were lucky and got 3 or 4 % then it's only about 1/2 an MPG - you're never going to notice that and you're never going to be able to prove that you're not getting it. The biggest problem you CAN experience when a Remap is installed, and used, is the Longer throw between 5th and 6th in Auto. Before the remap I could acheive 6th in about 50-55mph, with a remap it can be upto 10mph higher (in my case), so hence only 22-24mpg (dash calculation).
However, I adopt the principle of using the triptronic mode at 50mph( it goes into 6th then) and leave it there in sport mode, so combined with the K & N I get anything between 26-30mph which aint bad with the kit bolted to mine.
Its already been said, aerodynamics of a brick, so stop worrying bout it.

Turbo chip remap stay a way |
|
After many weeks pondering which Remap or chip to use to improve MPG on my D3,
I decided to go with Turbochip after many recomendations of the forum.
After installation
I made lots of phone calls to Turbo chip to complain about poor MPG .
All they said its my vehicle.
I replied its been checked by Landrover and there own technician both of them could not find any fault.
MY advise to anybody is stay away from these cowboys there garantee does not mean anything all they want is you to part with your hard earned cash
I have had numerous phone calls with turbo chips and each time come off the phone more dissapointed then ever, his attiditude really stinks.

So, no real development from your original thread on the topic earlier. I would have thought that if a demonstrable improvement in economy was your main requirement for a remap, you'd have got agreement on terms for a refund in writing.
EDIT: Thanks to the un-named Mod who has tacked the new thread onto the OP's original; 2nd point still stands. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

Hi Tony,
You seem unwilling to answer some of the relevant questions that other forum members have asked. I will repeat some of them and ask one or two more.
How long have you had the D3 before the remap?
What were your mpg figures (and in what conditions) before the remap?
Does the info from TurboChip say improvement in economy of UP TO 7%, or not?
Are you measuring the mpg under the same conditions before and after the remap?
I look forward to your reply,
Peter The Bearded Dragon

How long have you had the D3 before the remap? we had it for a month before the remap
What were your mpg figures (and in what conditions) before the remap? there is no increase in the mpg now and there was not any increase back in july after the remap, i drive the car more than what tony does and was told that after around 400 miles of driving we would see an increase, in the colder weather i have noticed less mpg but have been told the reason for that
Does the info from TurboChip say improvement in economy of UP TO 7%, or not? yes they do state that on their website and when he came to remap the car he stood in my kitchen and told me that we would see an improvemant with the mpg and and that he has done thousands of discos and all of them say they have improved mpg, we have not had any improvememt and they don't give a rats ass i might aswell have chucked the £500 down the drain and now the thing thats me off is his attitude towards us, i don't think he knows what the word civil means.
Are you measuring the mpg under the same conditions before and after the remap? yes, for what it matters to them. Apparently there is something wrong witht the car, its been into landrover and they can't find anything wrong with it, So where do i go from here, i would not reccomend turbochips to anyone their attiude sucks.
I look forward to your reply,
Peter
