Possible to enable "predicted direction" view?
My MY13 HSE LUX only has the rear camera fitted – does anybody know if it's possible to enable the 'predicted direction' view on the reversing screen (where the little lines move according to the steering wheel direction)? I've found this to be quite useful on my wife's car...wishing mine did the same.
Seems like this would just be a software thing.2013 LR4 HSE lux | Santorini Black | 5.0 V8

It is software but the software is in a component you do not have.

Interesting to know. I recently had a rental, there wasn't anything like the surround cameras, but the lines were there in reverse.
Could this be a different version for different countries?Cheers Patrick from Munich

The lines are there as part of the reversing camera. However, they aren't affected by the steering angle unless you have the surround cameras.D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

I gather the difference is the reverse camera only is an analogue camera, whereas the surround uses a digital camera, hence they can play around more with the image.
But does anyone really use the guidance lines? I'm never sure if I can trust it especially when space is tight, but I suppose I should RTFM to know what the various markings mean...

The manual isn't a lot of help I'm afraid
When reverse gear is selected, the touch screen automatically displays a wide angle, colour image from the rear of your vehicle.
The rear view camera system provides a rear view image to assist in reversing the vehicle.
Overlaid on the image are reversing guidelines.
Note: A return icon is displayed in the bottom
right hand corner of the touch screen. Touch
this to revert to the previously viewed screen.
Rear view camera display on the touch screen
will discontinue when either of the following
apply:
• Drive is selected for longer than 15
seconds.
• Drive is selected and/or vehicle speed is
greater than 18 km/h (11 mph).D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

Yes I do to a point, but not to rely on and you have to understand what the cameras are showing you rather than blindly relying on themMike
