I cant believe they have added another fuel tax - and applaud you for finding that article - what was it in - size 3 font in Swan's Budget papers???? Bloody hell.
I really cant begin to bare the thought of petrol hitting $2 a litre (and diesel) but I think Diesel is at $1.72 here in Perth today so it cant be far away (the jump from $1.50 to $1.75 - 25 cent increase seems to have happended almost overnight). I'm pessimistic we will be paying $2 by Xmas......
I hope Landrover engineers are working on some clever ideas to enable us all to be able to afford to do the long off road trips we can in this country....will we see a hybrid Disco 4?!!! and would it "work" here in Oz?? 2006 SE TDV6, remapped 185Kw, 545NM; Java / black leather; LR roof DVD; LR Expedition rack / LR ladder; LR side steps; LR light guards; OL drawer system; Elec trailer brake controller; 3 extra 12V hella sockets; LR raised air intake; ARB bar; Lightforce spotties; OL rear wheel carrier; Long Ranger 115 litre sub-tank; GME 3440 UHF; TPMS; Traxide/Optima yellow / National Luna dual battery monitor; 6 x 18inch rims with General Grabber AT2's; Mitchell Bros tow hitch; OBIES rear window protector.

Off to My Accountant on Monday. So much for all of My salary sacrifice .
At least I can still salary sacrifice to My super. We'd like to know a little bit about You for our files,
We'd like to help You learn to help Yourself,
Look around You all You see are sympathetic eyes,
Stroll around the grounds until You feel at home.

That departure tax increase is a real stinker. The previous govt divested themselves of the airports, making a tidy sum in the process. CASA is wholly funded from the excise on avgas and Jet A1. Seems like it'll be a nice little earner for them.

what about an increase of GST to 12-15% or even 20%? how does a waste of money and embarrassing fuel watch scheme? financing cost? oh look at the interest rate spike!
I am still a couple years away from 30, so salary sacrifice to super is not an option yet. I am struggling to get a new Diesel D3 even our annual net incomes almost double the car purchase cost who cares about working family now?

So Tristan, we can expect you to willingly hand over the extra readies as a gift to Wayne Swan when you buy your next D3? Getting there is half the fun

IMO, that would be a price i'd be prepared to pay if it would get rid of the "burn the lesbians at the stake" Family First (read "radical christian") party...
