Preparations for Driving Through Europe
In a few weeks I'll be taking the D4 for its first trip across Europe. As a minimum we'll be passing through Belgium, France, Germany and Switzerland. Possibly other countries as well.
So, can anyone help me with the following questions.
My car has xenon headlights, the LED fairy lights and obviously the normal LED rear lights. Am I correct in thinking that the only spare bulb I need to keep French plod happy is a spare front indicator bulb?
The Swiss require headlamps to be on at all times. Which DRL setting should I enable with my IID tool Standard / Scandinavian / Canadian ?
Is there much advantage to having one of the electronic tag things for the French Autoroutes rather than just swiping the credit card at each payage?MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added
MY2019 D5 HSE 3.0 SDV6 - sold to a dealer for a crazy price! - So good I bought another!

Scandinavian lights via IID, like what I'm using in Norway at the mo.
Toll tag is worth its weight in gold, especially like me you travel one up. Also you sail past the big queues and don't even stop. Simples but excellent.
And don't take too many bags of haribos, you'll just eat them in the first day and feel sick, like I did.
Oh, and in France it's not a requirement to carry a bulb kit but it's illegal to have a blown bulb, QED peeps carry a kit. How it works on cars that need their bumper taken off to change a bill I don't know but hey, ho that's France for you. And don't bother with breathalysers, it's the law that you have to have them but the police have said they're not enforcing it. More French madness

The toll tag is excellent, I would certainly do!!
I also bought bulbs as its good to be prepared for the french police in case.
The front indicator bulb is a hard one, I struggled but sorted in the end but read my thread I started.
