it seems that the film on the insideof my tailgate is coming away after light contact with a car boot sale payload? Is this acceptable or do you think i have a warranty claim here? TDV6 HSE Buckingham Blue and still smiling

The film would be only expected to counter reasonable wear & tear for example very light knocks or when cleaning with approved materials - if its come into contact with something hard then, like paintwork, you may not have a warranty claim - as always though test out your dealers response - he may have sympathy and do you a deal. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

hmmmm, could be tricky, can it be repaired or is a new piece of coated glass required i wonder. still, 15k service coming up (with replacement compressor on back order to be fitted) so could leverage teh "dis satisfied customer " position and get this attended to! If you bought the car with Privicy from new, the glass should be tinted, not film.
If you had you car tinted, like we did, i dont think you have a claim as it was damage - unless its coming away from the edge where you can say it has not stuck properly.
Either way most tinting places would charge about £40ish to do the tailgate.

I'm having the same debate with my original dealer. They said it was privacy glass, not a film tint (I had them check). After a couple of weeks of ownership my daughter noticed a tiny hole in the tint. So it is a tint, not the privacy glass they claimed (I have it is writing). Of course I can see it is a tint now, noticing it more and more.
Along with them breaking by towball pre-delivery and not replacing it, I am having a gay-ole-time with them.
Took them 3 weeks to respond with a holding letter to the original complaint. It's been another 3 weeks since then. Looks like the small claims court for me.
Hey ho.
