Prob with Rosen A7 DVD Headphones

any ideas chaps?
Just had the Rosen A7 fitted today. Bought from fleabay ages ago. It all works fine except we cant listen to the DVDs! One headphone wont turn on. the other will turn on but stops after 10secs. The manual mentions an auto cut out on the headphones when there is no signal (to save batteries I guess).
Is there something in the set up (I cant find it) to overcome this eg IR settings etc?
Or is it buy new headphones (and will any old make work?).
Also - couldnt fit the FM modulator as it isnt the right type for the LR headunit.

Had another fiddle. I am starting to lean towards it being a problem with the inf red signal from the unit. Great, bin time for the unit and try and find another (so wasted £120 on unit plus £120 to fit it - it is a Chrysler Rosen A7 and they spent some time reshaping the unit to fit neatly). Hopefully I can buy a new unit and directly fit now the hard work is done.

chap who imports Rosen contacted me!! You just need to turn the headphones on and off 20 times or so to kick start a capacitor. That got one pair working. The other pair are totally dead. So not too bad after all. PLUS the guy I bought it off on ebay said 'sorry would replace or refund if you bought it less than 90 days ago' - thats fine I said - you can see from ebay that I did buy it 85 days ago. Great ! He has gone quiet now!

Nick at Yeovil has come to my rescue and has a pair of headphones on the way to me. Just a donation to this site was all that was needed to secure (so hopefully the prob will have been the old phones & not the unit).

By the way , it is easy to make a donation and you can even use Paypal.
