Problem fitting new nsf driveshaft
Morning. I'm having a nightmare trying to fit the new pattern part. I managed to remove the OE shaft without too much trouble but the new one stops about 10mm short of being fully seated. The old shaft will go back in without any issues but the new one will not . I thought about building the new into the old, sadly a slight size difference in bearing has stopped that.
Any ideas?

If its the diff end that is a problem have you checked that the cir-clip can compress enough in its groove.

As it is a pattern part I would check shaft dimensions etc. It is the right part for your vehicle as sometimes suppliers do screw up.

Not sure about the diff side, but the outer CV joint is different spline on manual and auto. I managed to get a hands on the wrong CV joint. It fitted right onto the halfshaft, but I noticed it was wrong because of a slight play in it. Was a bit** to get it off again.
Measure the diameter and count the spline to compare.

It fits fine on the outer but the diff side just won’t go on
I’ve got a shaft coming from a breaker tomorrow so I’ hoping it will get done.

But the manual/auto shaft is the same spline against the wheel hub, so it will fit there. But I would think it's different into the diff.

I would have thought it would be the same. It’s only the diff. I can’t see them making a different differential for an auto and manual version surely??

The halfshaft from auto to manual is not interchangeable, different partnumbers. And the diffs are different ratios. So they are not the same

Thanks for the information, maybe this is the issue.
