| Programming Remote to Open Tailgate. |

Lots of threads on here about tailgate failure to unlock, and now I've got the same problem. Pressing the dash buttons allows the tailgate to be opened (if you're quick enough!!) so it seems to just be the rubbish door switch that needs replacing. I read in one thread that an interim solution pending repair would be to programme the Landrover button on the remote to open the tailgate. My question is how do I do that?

Have you pulled the rubber cover off to clean the muck out from the mechanism?

you need a working switch to program!
But if you can get it working for a second, you....
hold down the LR logo on the key and then press the tailgate release at the rear of car.

Thanks to both respondents, cleaned the rubbish out, got it working, programmed the remote, sent for replacement. Glad some people know all these Disco quirks!!!!
