Prospeed compressor guard

Good afternoon,

To install the Prospeed compressor guard is it necessary to take out the original plastic compressor guard? The person who installed it on my D4 took the compressor plastic cover out but now the compressor seems to be very exposed to the elements, even with Prospeed compressor guard.

Thanks,
Nuno

As Tayaste said definitely on.
He may of thought it needs removing because it can be a bit tight fitting it over but that's correct Thumbs Up

Done! Easy fit. Prospeed compress guard is very well made and a tight fit. It weight 7.5kg, nevertheless.

Thanks!

When you hear a knocking noise a couple of months down the line... Check the compressor cover before you strip bits off your car Embarassed

... and this is the reason for some people to leave the plastics away. You can clean the compressor more easily with lots of water. Wink

All connectors are the same as they are used on other very exposed places of the car (example: height sensor cables). And the plastic housing is not waterproof also.

But I am not sure myself, which method (with or without plastics) is best.
