Pushing accelerator - no response or rev's

Does anyone know what would cause the following problem?

Car is started, in gear and brake is depressed. Then brake is released and accelerator is pressed... nothing happens. Rev's don't climb even if the accelerator is pushed all the way to the floor. Typically, after waiting a few seconds, releasing the accelerator and reapplying results in normal response.
It happens intermittently...

Thanks

It could be a problem with the potentiometers in the pedal. I had a very similar problem on a previous vehicle.

However, that is a complete shot in the dark and someone with more knowledge and experience will no doubt be along soon...

I also think it’s something to do with your fly by wire system.

Google and YouTube “accelerator position sensor test” or similar to see if you have the tooling to test the system.

I've had this from time to time in the past and it disappears after a good run. I'd check your battery condition as the 'few seconds before correct response of accelerator' is about the same time it takes for alternator charge level to increase above 13V.
