Put My Mind at rest Brake Servo.

Have the usual hard pedal symptoms very intermittent, I have ordered new parts to fit this weekend.

Problem is do I need to use the diagnostic tool to bleed the brakes when I'm done or can i use the old fashioned method?

seems to be people have done it both ways i'm confused.

If you get let air into the tank and ABS then you need the computer to bleed.

If you just unbolt the master cylinder from the servo and move it out the way, there should be no problem.

Ok I’ll give that’s a go wasn’t sure with would be enough space to do it without removing the lines from the master cylinder and abs pump

I haven’t done it in the D3 so that maybe an issue.

You can replace the servo without disconnecting any abs or master cylinder pipes, although the pipes will need to be ‘flexed’ a bit. No problem when I did mine several yrs ago, and still ok now. I bled the system normally with an ‘eezibleed’ afterwards just to get some new fluid in, in case it was contaminated. Thumbs Up
