Quick help with couple of fault codes |
|
Hi guys, having a nightmare with the beast, replaced both front wheel bearings as one had collapsed and the other in it’s way out.
Trouble is the car is still on the deck and I can’t move it.
These are the codes.
U0155
Lost communication with instrument cluster control module
P0500
Vehicle speed sensor A
P0196
Engine oil temperature sensor circuit range/performance
P0489
Exhaust gas recirculation control - circuit low
C1A91
Front left wheel speed sensor circuit
Im hoping it’s just a case of replacing the front left wheel speed sensor. I did clear the codes and the scanned again to get rid of old ones.
Cheers

Hey DC,
Just a quick observation bourne from zero experience and limited knowledge base.
My friend has/had a 2008 TDV6 D3 XS, that he recently had into the local independent with a completely collapsed wheel bearing; suddenly started mak8ng a groaning noise and had to be flatbedded to the garage.
Week or so later I scanned his car and found the P0196 oil temp error in his log that had just appeared.
Cleared it and suggested he get it checked out, as it was due a service soon, but...
Week later oil pump cracked at the cam belt tensioner, and engine now wrecked.
Clearly, none of these are likely connected, but eerily coincidental, and were it me I’d not be starting the car again until belts/oil pump/tensioners had all been replaced!
Now, where did I put my tin foil hat .....

Well as I have already replaced the auxiliary belt tensioner, and my preferred indie has replaced my oil pump already along with the cam belt, I’m hoping that is just a coincidence 😳🤞

I had U0155 last night, or rather my wife did. Came out of nowhere; never seen before. The only correlation was that the car had just been through the car wash; came on shortly after. Don't know if it's linked.
Cleared it now and will see what happens. It's hard finding any useful info on the site about it so I'll watch this thread and see if those with greater knowledge pipe up.
Can't speak to any of the others. PAGODA

That's a good call, and the battery has been playing up lately, only bought a new one a year or so ago I think , might look for an alternative supplier
