TV tuner mystery
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction here... I've not had my discovery 3 HSE long but since buying it I have had an intermittent issue with no sound from the stereo and have been following the advice on here about how to identify the problem.
I have tried various things to fix this issue including buying a new head unit and fitting MOST loops to loop out the sat nav, logic 7 amp, tmc and bluetooth modules... all to no avail.
So I decided today to look at looping out the TV module, considering the fact the TV has never picked up a channel I was starting to think the TV module could be the problem. I looked up where it was located in the car and this is where the 'mystery' has come about.
From looking around on here it seems that the tuner should be mounted in the rear drivers side just in-front of the bluetooth module and TMC ... there is no sign of it in that location whatsoever, no unit, no MOST cable, no connectors no nothing... I would assume at this point that the car didn't come with TV fitted however, there is a TV section on the satnav screen which brings up all the TV interface stuff but doesn't show any channels. Someone has also at some point fitted an 'in motion' TV override into the loom behind the head unit... so the TV must have been working at some point!
Am I looking in the right place for the TV tuner?

Correct location
Are you sure it's a picture in motion unit ?
You can get an aux input unit that fools the screen into thinking you have tv .. this then brings up the tv icon .. and that's used for the input of the aux sourceG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

In that manual that Wiggs posted, there is a note that says...
"IMPORTANT NOTE
If when you select TV-DVD from the home screen (fig 1) you are directed to the screen shown below to select TV again, then you will need to see a LANDROVER dealer for a INFOTAINMENT FIRMWARE UPDATE as your unit has an old version of firmware which will cause audio switching problems with the OPV-1LR installed."2005 Discovery 3 HSE

Thanks wiggs, the fact that one of these PIM devices could bring up the TV option on the NAV had not ocurred to me. I thought the TV was there to start with and the PIM was just added to stop it cutting off when the car is in motion. It seems logical now that this could be the cause of my sound issues. (pic attached of PIM device).
I think the previous owner had something after market hooked up that was partially removed (theres still some cables laying under the seats and an unplugged DVD player in the boot). I thought this was a side issue that I could deal with after the sound got fixed but it looks like it may be the cause of the problem.
Hopefully if I go through and take it all back to standard, my sound will come back!

Just to follow up on this ... wiggs was right that I have a 'nav-tv' type setup .. last night I removed the plug and play harness for the PIM device and followed some MOST cables that looked like they had been added into the system... sure enough, down in the passenger foot well I found a control module to connect a DVD input ... I removed it all and the TV option disappeared from my Nav menu so my disco never had a TV tuner and that's why i couldn't find it.
Turns out this was all a bit of a red herring though because I still have intermittent sound on the radio..!!
