Radio issue

So drove to work today 88 miles about 2.5 hours in the car radio worked fine no issues on Aux with a iPod connected by 3.5mm jack . When I got to work i parked up and sat with the engine running for about 10 mins, then turned it off and did a bit of work on the laptop about 10 mins the rsdio was running on low power for that length of time. It then just switched itself off so I took the key out and got out.

Came back at end of day about 6 hours later turned it on pressed Aux put the iPod on and pressed play nothing, Checked the radio no sound, CD player no sound and won’t play and cd it selects the cd but doesn’t start playing.

Cd radio is about 14 months old as before I bought the car the dealer replaced it for a whole new unit as the original one stopped working. No idea if there is any warranty on it but will check with the dealer I suspect it will be a years worth

Now I put the Gap iid tool in and it came up with following error

B1A96-68
Bus still active after shutdown request algorithym based failure event information.
It’s a 2006 D3 S model

Any ideas I’ve tried shutting it down by turning off I know it’s not the pod as I’ve rebooted that and it works on another car.

Can an after market unit be fitted in place of this as I’ve heard conflicting views

Regards
Stu
If it moves and it shouldn't duct tape it, if it doesn't move and it should walk away and get a big hammer

Try a hard reset and see if that helps.

If you’ve got the IID tool, use service functions and vehicle reset will usually do almost the same.

Car started ok I assume?

It started fine this morning radio back as normal no idea what happened there

Thanks

Stuart

Ps I read the hard reset seems a bit dodgy to me wires and battery terminals think I would be too frightened to try that for fear of frying something

Good to hear it’s working Thumbs Up

RE. “Ps I read the hard reset seems a bit dodgy to me wires and battery terminals think I would be too frightened to try that for fear of frying something”

No, you disconnect the battery leads and then hold the disconnected leads together, so neither of the leads you are holding together have any power in them when you are doing it.

Think it was the possible melted plastic that worried me
