Tanters my RAI is exactly like yours with no slots on the front facing edge. Thats what was fitted by LR at the dealers in Germany. I have a grill intake on the rear facing edge.POT NOODLE NAVIGATION CHALLENGE 2010 WINNER

The Discovery 3 Raised Air Intake raises the engine air intake point and contains a pre-filter for use in dusty conditions. This product is fitted to all Discovery 3 Land Rover G4 challenge vehicles.
Maybe the slot-less ones are a newer design ?

I wonder if they have done away with the slots to stop rain driving in at high speeds ?.

Of the 3 that I've fitted they deffo don't have a prefilter.
Unless it's optional of course but I can't see it on Microcat.

Mine does'nt have the slots on the front either, worth looking into I guess. MPG is between 26-32 depending how I drive
