To ever so briefly get back on topic, didn't notice any drop in mpg after my RAI was fitted, one of the LRE guys at Snowdonia thought I'd loose 1mpg for the RAI & 2mpg for the MTRs

would taking the top off cause lower air pressure (venturi effect ) as you drive faster and thus cause poor MPG.
I've seen pics of other RAI that have a forward facing inlet which at first I thought would just help force in cr@p (dust, rain, snow etc) but the quote of taking the top off has now got me thinking of the problems associated with these issues.
Just had a reply back from LR
It's a design chabge from the manufacturer
No reason given other than that
Early ones had slots, current and futeure no slots...
The guy did say..."Why not sell him a file"
Anybody else got no slots and find decrease in fuel economy ? if so give me details and i will pass it back but as i'm not the only LR dealer selling these and no one else has asked the question it may be unrelatedTLO has left the building.......

But, unless reading this thread, I rekon anyone fitting an RAI and has reduced mpg will no doubt just put it down to aerodynamics.
Certainly didn't recall a reduction on mpg when I had my [slotted] RAI fitted.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Cheers Nick
No doubt putting slots cost too much or something like that
I'll borrow the chainsaw off DW and see if there is any improvement.

So you think my not so good mpg doesn't have anything to do with my speed or the fact that my G4 has a V8?
It's just because I have a RAI, roofrack, G4 plaque, winch, light protectors, underbody protection and offcourse the G4 stickers that my mpg is a liitle lower than yours with a TDV6?Roel
