raising the suspension without engine running?

Hi Everyone, Seasons Greetings

I was wondering if I can get some help in raising my '06 D3 TDV6 HSE which is on bump stops and engine out of commission?

I have an IIDtool.

Have tried suggestions I could find e.g. programming personal button on FOB - won't programme FOB & wire between 2 terminals at F7 relay - compressor runs but not labouring to fill gallery and pressure remains around 230 kpa.

Being 350K km old I had an engine failure I have reasoned to be the turbo as it could start briefly but had squelching & knock, knock sounds and died each time rapidly (not bottom end etc) Thinking it could be water pump or timing; I removed associated components to find no anomaly and remembered turbo variable veins had frozen 100,000km previously so it was/is probable turbo. Have a reconditioned one now but essentially need it raised to start attempting the replacement or even transport.

Even if I put back removed engine components to make the engine start, it won't run longer than 10 maybe 15 seconds so it seems unlikely I can get suspension up without multiple attempts at short engine runs without the risk of furthering other possible damages unknown.

Does anyone have any idea's? Thank you in advance
K

Can be done with the IID Thumbs Up

Engine doesn't need to be running, but ideally a charged battery or external supply is needed

Something like.

Ensure LR key fob button set for headlights.

Hold LR button while pressing suspension button

Turn hazzards on. Get out shut door.
Hold LR button down and also hold lock or unlock to raise lower

Thank you kindly Disco_Mikey, Triplet3 and Pete K for your responses.

I can confirm Pete K’s advice on the method works very well and very quickly too.

It is clearly the easiest approach and most universally accessible as in one needs an iidtool to operate one method and using jacks and stands is not so physically easy or always possible when the vehicle is on bump stops in the wrong initial location.

I would suggest everyone familiarise themselves with Pete K’s responded method.

All the best everyone for the new year
