Has anyone had a sound like a wild pig being killed after they stopped and parked their D3 ?

As follows,
1) Stop the D3 as normal
2) Apply EPB
3) Put autobox in to "P"
4) Wild pig noise occurs (very loud)

Sometimes it happens even after I have walked away from the car ie a 20 second delay to it starting. It's 1 for the dealer but it as it is only occuring once per week I know that he'll probably hand me the keys back saying he could find nothing wrong.

To stop the noise: If I put the autobox in to N, R or D (engine is off !) then it cuts it straight away !

I'm sure someone else has had something similar and knows the fix, so that I can point the dealer in the right direction.

sounds like the park brake to me. Do you not get the Park Brake Fault lights as well??Although switching ignition off and then back on usually clears those Pot Noodle Challenge Winner 2011

No warning lights from EPB, although reading other post suggest the EPB. Mrs Jones ? We've come for your Liver

Sounds like the EPB to me. Try parking without using it - just use P on the 'box Disco 5 HSE Lux

Yip. that's the park brake. Sounds like a cat after eating a vindaloo !!!

Mines goes into the dealer on Tuesday to get the EPB module changed. I don't know if that'll make a difference, but they reckon it's the cause ??!!

It only started doing it during the last outing at Boughrood.

Mine is in the dealer at present having the EPB module changed - after it gave up the ghost on Friday

Parked up on a slight hill, EPB on, and the car started to roll backwards

then the warning lights come on the dash..... reset didn't cure it....

Sounds like it's a call to the dealer tomorrow morning then !

Seems that the EPB is giving up pretty early on in life !

New module here I come, well after Mr Swiss dealer has received 1 from Solihul in approx 2wks...... Mrs Jones ? We've come for your Liver

Get them to replace the whole system... that fixed mine after having a squealer and the first fix was just the module. Never returned.

Just doing the EPB module will not cure it.

And its a common issue.
