rear airco

Would it be possible to retrofit the rear airco in a 2007 model.
LR3 driving lamps, front and rear lamp guards, raised air intake, general grabber AT2, ...

I would also like to know, what I have heard is that you would need a different spec aircon compressor. Think it would be possible but you would have to do it yourself( cost of labour) parts would be have to be sourced from breakers Question Question

it is possible to do this retrofit.

1) you must recover a donor machine.
NEED: rear air compressor, rear pillars with ventilation, roof with ventilation, central console with specific controls, dedicated rear controls on the roof, electric braking (if not present) all the piping

2) install all the components and connect the cables in total are 5 cables plus roof wiring

3) enable from ccf

I have done this job in my D3, it is long but not difficult

How did you run the rear refrigerant lines?

I have dismantled both lines from the donor machine and simply reassembled replacing the initial
junction behind the engine.

this was very simple and fast.

to do this you have to empty all the refrigerant and water cooler lines

under the machine it is arranged to accommodate the new pipes

I replaced the rear lines on my HSE, and I couldn't get them to fit without bending them - so cant imagine how you would do it properly without lifting the body - very impressive! Smile

both lines have more joint points.

I started to montae from the engine side towards the back

it was not so difficult.

I should have photos of the work if I find them sent
