Got my new bushes today...one question though...is the torsion load OFF the bar when wheels are up and off the ground hanging freely or I have to lift each wheel independently at the same time i lift the frame , to take torsion load off the bar?I hope I have made myself clear on this one.. Laughing

If both wheel are off the ground and level, there will be no torsion on the ARB Thumbs Up

Thanks for clarification Thumbs Up .I am also planing to change front bushings, but , since they are attached to the frame on the side, vertically, I wonder ,if loose bar would fall down or just stay in the same place, since wheels will be lifted of the ground or just change one bushing at a time...anybody can answer that ?

Great writeup. I'll be putting it to good use soon. Thank you. I see, too, that you mentioned that you replaced the (2) bolts on each bushing bracket; part number: FT110206. Do you know offhand the part numbers for the bolts/nuts on the front ARB bushings?

The collars are part of the anti-roll bar

Poly bushes and broken rear top wishbone

Hi all, sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I fitted a full set of polly bushes about a year ago. Disco has had an awful ride since. Rock hard. Just had handbrake fail. Mechanic was changing handbrake harness and noticed the upper rear wishbone mount has cracked in two places where it holds the bush and joins the chassis. Anyone had this happen to them? Do you think it could be down to the stiffness of the rear poly bush???

What kind of polybushes was it?

Never seen that happen before, though the red bushes are apparently the stiffest grade of polybushes available. Whether that has had anything to do with it, I wouldn't like to say.

Unless anyone else has polys fitted, and can check?

How do I post pics ? I have a few of the fracture in the upper wish bone. Do you think i should replece with the poly bushes with standard bushs, also mechanis says he can weld the upper wish bone. Dealer here wants 500 euro for a new upper wishbone! I live in Cyprus and a good mechanich that understands Discos is hard to find here so any advise would be appricated.

Did mine today. Pig of a job made easier by this excellent write up. I found that the bolts came out easier with a quick squirt of GT85 under the part of the chasis where the bolts drop through! Thumbs Up
