Possibly seized callipers but seems odd that normally it would show initially by sticking on or DSC faulty

I thought sticking calipers, but seems strange being both sides, they mentioned a sensor or something, does it have anything like that for the rear brakes?

Apart from the separate EPB brake system with it's sensors, the only other sensors relating to the actual disc brakes are the ABS sensors (One on each wheel) and the brake pad wear sensors (one on the front and one on the rear). There are no sensors fitted to indicate a sticking/seized caliper.
The other sensors for the ABS braking system are in the hydraulic unit under the bonnet.
I suspect the problem lies with the rear caliper(s). Relocated to Mid France from N. Wales March 2021

If the calipers aren't in great condition replacements from AF are £41.51 each with the INITTOGETHER discount code.

I wonder if it’s the master cylinder ?
Unusual failure.
You could try bleeding the rears, maybe. Check fluid coming thru ?

Circuits from the master cylinder are split diagonally, so can't see it being a problem with 'just' both rear brakes if so. Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

it's more likely both are not working very efficiently, not working at all suggests a complete lack of movement, which even when very corroded is unlikely.
Either that or both rear brake pipes have corroded so badly they are leaking, but that would be a different failure and you'd have no fluid left.
I can vouch for the quality of the replacements from Advance Factors, far better than trying to rebuild the originals.

Hey Simon
I was about to welcome EXCALIBOR & ask him to complete his profile.. but I see that your profile is incomplete, presumably since the D4 arrived
Welcome EXCALIBOR, in the circumstances I'll say no more, in your case.

They were before ABS systems were fitted.
Now tend to be front rear

I’d be checking for a burst pipe to the rear brakes. Dual circuit system should not result in total brake failure in the event of complete fluid loss in one of the circuits. However it should have been obvious to the tester that this has happened?
