Rear bulbs blowing

I have a problem that has been irritating for some time now where the brake bulbs keep blowing. Strangely the n/s will fail, I replace it and within a couple of days the o/s fails ..... this pattern repeats with the n/s failing soon after.

Is there anything "known" out there that could cause this (as I'm not sure the dealer believed me when I told them about it - and its due in on Friday to fix the problem.)

Thanks

If you're not using cheap ones that rules that out, cheap is only per item anyway, as you end up having to replace them more often they don't really work out any cheaper Rolling Eyes

I've only ever had one fail in 45k miles of D3 motoring so maybe you're just unlucky, hopefully your dealer can sort it

Was advised at the week-end that one of my brake lights has failed. Fortunately, this was a family member passing the news rather than a uniform Wink

I know about ordinary bulbs, but what's the story with the LEDs?

Gareth which LED's did you get from Ultraleds for the brake lights and do they give the all round illumination like incandesant bulbs, i have already replaced the front side lights with LED's and was already thinking about the rears.

Tintender, I ask you the same, what bulbs did you buy for the front? Found Ultraleds website and not sure exactly what I should be ordering.

They are perfectly good, as they have leds facing forward and back.

I have http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1134 as they seem to give a better contrast between tail and brake lights (the extra 900mA has to be going somewhere, right? Wink ) when the brakes are on than others, and it makes complete use of the reflector.

i read all your comments with great interest as i have just been told , yes ,i have o/s brake light out firstly do the led replaced brake bulbs make the other lights look daft so requiring all to be replaced .secondly probably regret asking this but why are all the bulbs twin filament, when do they come on ? and finally if those front led's miss the adaptive light unit may as well fit those as well good work folks Thumbs Up
