Rear camera question
Hi all, D4 rear camera question. When I select natural after being in reverse I get on screen (rear camera) & (screen off) if I select rear camera it shows rear camera but goes blank after few seconds, is it surposed to stay visible until I select drive or park. (I hope I explained ok )
Works as it should when reverse is selected.2015MY discovery 4 se tech with factory black pack.

Slightly off topic but any bright spark figured out how to have the rear standard camera record?
Got a front dash cam but a rear one utilising the existing hardware would be great.Last of the D4 HSE...
is the standard rear camera permanently live? I imagine it would be cheaper to fit a dedicated cam for this which would give a better field of vision, resolution and bound to be cheaper
Normally, the camera takes it's live feed from the reversing light circuit so would expect it only to operate when reverse selected. However, a factory install may have a completely different setup to what I know.Tony
Later models, I think from MY14 you can select the rear camera at anytime.

i Fitted rear camera to my 15my from a used 14my so it is all OE but i can only get rear camera when select reverse, I did have to enable it with IID tool maybe there is something in the settings iv missed.2015MY discovery 4 se tech with factory black pack.

On the standard start up screen, scroll to the left, should have camera settings.
Take no notice of the parking graphics on the right, I’ve extra ones for towing added via the IID Tool, highlight the camera on the left and it will give you the option to have the camera on at speed, only until you restart the the vehicle again, it goes back to the default setting, activation when selecting Reverse.

I don’t understand why I haven’t got the camera icon on left of screen, only thing I can think is maybe it’s a pre 14my rear camera and wiring, when I purchased used it said it was from a 2014 car. Will just have to be happy with rear view when select R. and hope my trailer stays on, 2015MY discovery 4 se tech with factory black pack.

Gilly1. My rear camera can be switched on all of the time but i do it via a shortcut from the Home screen. Would that make a difference?Current - 2016 Commercial SE

Hi SJT,it’s worth a try, how do you shortcut?
Is it by holding valet button (top left corner down) and then selecting video, if yes it’s just a blank black screen when video is selected.2015MY discovery 4 se tech with factory black pack.

Mine comes up on the short cut screen - then just hit cameras and hit the camera icon and I can then see hotties behind me chatting on the phone while putting their lipstick on... Last of the D4 HSE...
