Unless you are a very competent home mechanic, you should avoid trying to overhaul a differential. I would think you could get a good used diff, for less money and hassle than trying to re-build one.

If it is only the output bearings then it’s straight forward to do.
If it’s the pinion bearings, then you’ll have difficulty getting the main pinion nut set to the right point.
