Rear Left Brake Drag After New Pads Installed |
|
Hi there,
Just got my rear pads changed. The mechanic mentioned that the calliper was hard to reset for the brake in question.
After each drive of more than 5 miles I can feel the heat coming off the rear right brake. What the best course of action?
Cheers!

Take it straight back to them to sort out and refit correctly + replace disk & pads if they're damaged The End

If the mechanic has said the bore of the caliper piston is corroded, stopping the piston from fully retracting then the only course of action is a new piston / caliper. Hardly the mechanics fault, and not one I would expect them to remidy FOC. All IMHO of course, depending on the full facts.

if the caliper was stiff then sounds like a new caliper. Ive had two replaced on rear LH wheel so far.
make sure they replace with a new rather than recon unit (recon replacements are quite common apparently) Duncan

Got it replaced and no more problems.
Curious it was only on the rear LH side!?
