Rear parking sensors D3

After a trip under really wet conditions, the rear parking system fails. When switching into reverse, after the control beep , the rear system starts a contant beep, front is working fine. All rear sensors are ticking as normal. Any idea, what may be the fault ?
thx in advance for any helpful advice.

water in a rear sensor I guess.

either read the fault code or
try a hair dryer in the rear sensors Smile

the system shows an "obstacle" in different locations, sometimes permanent beep after the check beep, sometimes intermittent beeps and from time to time it is working fine. Expect therefore no failure codes.

Possibly loom damaged, and it’s being affected by moisture.

It looks now like the rh sensor is defect.
I was invited for lunch on Sunday, estimated average age of the guests in this restaurant a
was about 95 years...🙆
Food was fine, but obviously one of the guests was not in best condition thst Sunday and touched the rear rh end of my Discovery's bumper when parking.
There are some new scratches, which I detected yesterday . Ordered a cheap set of sensors from a UK based company via ebay and got purchase confirmation from China😁
Let's see, if and when I receice the parts.

Good luck with that.

Did the same with a set of front sensors. Failed almost immediately, and ended up sending them all back for a refund.

Finally just disabled the front sensors iwith my IID tool, and haven’t had the courage to try again.

If you do get lucky, any chance you could post a link to the EBay seller?

Kind regards

Andy

parts arrived 10 days after ordering, customs checked them in Frankfurt airport, and survived my home test: 5 days under water,
have not fitted them yet to my disco, as the originals started to work again same time and are fine now since 4 weeks....

Norway

I washed my car on Saturday and afterwards it started to beep(in the rear). After a couple of days now it has returned to normal but I fear it will act up again the next time I wash it or get some heavy rain.
Is it a connector problem or is water physically getting in to parking sensor and how can I figure out which one of the four it is?

You may first check the sensors, if they fail: ignition on, in R or reverse gear you should hear them ticking, if your ear is close to them. no handbrake, therefore block the wheels before doing this. My specialist told me, there is often a wiring issue behind the bumper. Good luck.
