That won't help with reversing, if you remove the key the engine will stop!

AFAIK the park break can be operated manually on an auto just the same as on a manual. Press it down to release it, you don't have to start moving and wait for the auto-release.

Duh! I couldn't deactivate the parking brake because I wasn't pressing the brake pedal at the same time... I don't deserve to be here... Embarassed
