Rear suspension wishbone lower arm (Front) bushes

Hi i noticed that the rear inside of my tyres have worn down unevenly on my 2005 LRD3 so i jacked the motor up and theres loads of play in the lower suspension arm front bushes both sides, is this a common fault? does anyone know an indy in the Doncaster area? and how much will it cost to replace the bushes?

Thanks for your help from a newbie,

Willy[img][/img]

Are you sure its the lower arms? Have never seen them wear at all/ All the movement has been in the top arm bushes Question

I understand Willy Thumbs Up Bushes are about £30ish for the set, but you need to have a special shaped tool ideally to press them out.
The wishbone is about £90 complete, so the time taken to press out the old ones & insert the new ones would generally be more than the cost of a complete wishbone.

The tools for the bushes set is ISTR about £600!!!

Additionally, you'll usually find that the bolts seize up, so have to be cut off to get the arm off, which is why I recommended the complete arm replacement.

Of course, if you're doing it all yourself and no charge for the time as well as making an alternative to the proper tool, then yes you can keep the cost down Thumbs Up

If your indy has done these before, then they're likely to want to opt for the complete arm replacement. Thumbs Up

Sorry Embarassed I was talking about front, regarding the availability if lower control arm.

Not sure if a whole arm is avilable for the rear. I have heard the rear bushes are even more of a bar steward to get out.

I also replaced both lower wishbones on the front... It surprised me that the rubbers were completely worn out.
