rear tyre wear

i have just noticed that the inside edge of my n/s rear tyre is completely worn. the o/s one is wearing a little to the inside but seems fair across its full width. fronts are fine. all look to be evenly worn in terms of depth (17,000 miles now), do i have an alignment problem or is this common place. i suspect if its mis aligned i wont be getting FOC replacements from LR?

10,000 mile limit has been quoted for tyre swaps by LR

After ONLY 3300 miles in mine, last night I stuck my finger in the tread on the drivers side rear tyre and it does appear to be wearing faster on the outside than the in Evil or Very Mad - where's the best place to get a cheap tyre tread gauge from, I want something a little more scientific then a finger depth and I want to get onto this ASAP

Guys

all my wheels were out of alignment, with one back one worse than the rest (worn round inside edge at 8000 miles). LR wouldnt cough up for a replacement!

10000 miles is a joke! I got almost 60k miles out of the 18" wranglers on my D2. I know this things heavier, but it better do more than 10k or I'm on 2.5 sets of tyres per year.

i was hoping for 35,000 miles (previous free loader went 60,00 on same set..) and i am contracted at 24,000 miles per year so dont want to be coughing up left right and centre for consumables! looks like ANOTHER trip to the dealer, still, FOC towbar and privacy glass replacement needs doing so 2 days in a loaner wont kill me.

My rears wore badly on the inside as well (photos in gallery)
At about 20k miles they were bald on the inside, about 5mm on the outside.

LR contributed £150 towards replacement.

Talk nicely to your dealer

I got a 75% contribution from LR at 22,000 miles, alot of it is how you get on with your dealer. The tyres were all bald on the inside and on the rear 2 down to the canvas on the inside, it was argued by LR that I couldn't have such a smooth drive without some tyre wear, my reply contained alot of expletives, and in the end they agreed that it was unacceptable. They also carried out a full tracking and 4 wheel alignment. It is now smoother, and handles alot more precisely, and I thought it was good from the start.

I initially phoned LRA who gave me a number, I then went to the dealer and stuck to my guns. Good luck!

I think what qzdcg8 meant is that tire swaps under warranty, for whatever reason, is limited to the first 10,000. After that, you're on your own.
