Has anyone installed a back-up camera with a dedicated monitor?

Not a dedicated monitor but I do have a rearview cam plugged into the kids portable DVD player. DVD player goes onto the dashboard when required, power from 12v aux socket on the dash.

The purpose of the rearview cam is to allow me to hitch up the caravan alone without the need for a second person to go "left a bit/right a bit" - especially my missus who has difficulty transposing left and right when facing towards the back of the car.

I have a rear view camera & the monitor is half of a standard type rear view mirror. It is the kit that David Bowyer used to sell. Very nifty piece of kit. I also have a front mounted camera that monitors the cable winding on to the winch drum.

I have just bought a Veba system from http://www.armourautomotive.uk.com/ I havnt installed fully yet but the initial wire up test seemed positive. They do an IR colour waterproof camera to be used on trailers and a colue bumber camera. I bought the slimline headrest monitor which I now need to find a mount for. I was thinking of mounting above the sat nav. the monitor comes with 2 AV channels so I can swap between the bumber cam and the trailer cam.

I will take some photos and post them when I can get round to doing the installation

Could I plug such a camera straight into the D3's screen, or do I have to buy the FFRR camera?

I was led to believe that the rear cam from the FFRR would be compatible.
Does anyone know if this is the case?
