Rear view camera removal

Quick question, I am decommissioning a D4, sounds better than canabalising it. Thumbs Up

I put in a rear view camera, got it enabelled. Works fine, but don't want the garage to reap the benefits of it when I part ex it.

Can the two looms and camera be removed and replaced by the standard kit WITHOUT having it deactivated by a Faultmate?

I've removed the Xenons and know I can get away without that being software deactivated, so just wondering about the rear view camera, purely because it's a bit of faff removing it only to find I need the software done and end up running round to find someone with a Faultmate at the 11th hour or just bung the camera back and write it off to experience. Something tells me the software would be looking for a non existent camera and show a blank screen. Whistle

Flogging them IF I can resolve matters by the end of play today. I will go out and have another play. I just wanted to avoid dismantelling everything, putting in the old stuff and then finding it had to be de activated, for which I haven't got the time and put the stuff back.

Got a few things to sell once I sort myself out, including Xenons, back grille, side vents, rear bumper embellisher etc. which will need to go to a good home. Someone already jumped in on the heated clockspring and steering wheel and another with the roof bars. Tomorrow the car gets part exchanged, another LR, but not a D4.

Ive had to stop as its raining just now, but I don't think I am going to be successful without deactivation by Faultmate.

I've had a play with the old loom connected and found out that when you select reverse, the screen come on all black, I'd say searching for an image.

The rear sensors work fine that said, but don't show unless you touch the black screen, it changes to the image with the car and a visual of which sensor has been activated.

Trouble is you have to manually select it. Don't think I will get away with that, so might have to leave it in. Big Cry

You could say 'I thought they were all like that' if anyone queries the blank screen

Don't think I'd get away with the "always been like that" or you just have to touch the screen, much as I'd love to.

Have to leave the trailer electrics on too, don't fancy laying on the ground with all the muck round the bumper.

Disco - Not raining with you? It was a shower, now clear, the usual.
