Rear view mirror (internal) metal attachment to windscreen

Hi, can anyone help please, I have a basic rear view mirror in my D3 (54) and since getting blinded at night several times by the cars behind me (no automatic dip function) i have since bought a auto dimming rear view mirror which connects into the loom which is already their but I dont have the metal connector which glues onto (and stays) on the wind screen. Ive tried my local dealers who suggested i buy i new windscreen with it attached! They were Swiss though! I have the mirror all working but cant connect it to the windscreen... yet.
Any suggestions please, anyone have one etc etc?
Thanks

Anyone please... Im struggling here Wink
Also, if it looks like i have to go for a new windshield just to get the bonded rearview mirror attachment, would a new windshield come with all the sensors (or atleast be part of the new rearview mirror) so that I can retrofit automatic lights at the same time as adding front fogs/front PDC/new internal light switch and auto dipping rear view mirror?
Thanks

Maybe find out who replaces the windscreens for you local Land Rover dealer and see if they can salvage one from a replaced screen thats in their rubbish bin? My mirror fell off i spent time trying allsorts of glass to metal adhesives without success and eventually i went to a windscreen replacement company who bonded it back on for me, I had to wait over night before i could refit the mirror.. and its been fine ever since ... cost me about £5.. cheaper than a new screen.
