Rear Window blackout blinds?

Hello folks,

I have a 2012 XS with tinted windows but plan on utilising the huge load space to camp in (here and there) and feel the tints won’t be a good enough blackout from
a) Perves
b) the sun, early in the morning

Anyone on here managed to figure out a useful solution to this?

Many thanks in advance Bow down

Yes, have been in exactly the same situation myself. I have done a bit of experimenting, and this is my current set-up.

These (https://www.carshades.co.uk/privacy-shades-discovery-p-1562.html) for the rear tinted windows. Yes, they are a little expensive, but they are well made and seriously exceeded my expectations when used in conjunction with standard LR factory tints. You are unable to see inside the vehicle even in bright daylight from outside, yet outward visibility is hardly impaired.

To give you an idea, there is a photo looking from one tinted window with internal blind out through the untinted driver's window. http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use...82%29.jpeg

And here looking through tint and blind through to blind and tint on the opposite side of the car. http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use...81%29.jpeg
You can't see through at all.

From inside looking out: http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use...21_10.jpeg

And just for the hell of it, the boot too: http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use...83%29.jpeg

I combine it all with the LR windscreen shade (VPLFY0068) like so.

Definitely not the cheapest way of doing it, but I couldn't be happier and it looks neat and OEM.

Edit: Hmmm, those photos haven't really worked. Check my gallery below.
