Hello,
Anybody put redex in their D3 diesel tank?
I am close to 90k and whilst its running fairly smoke free im wondering if a quick blast would help.
SWMBO little pug van is up to 70k and it smokes like a tramp steamer so I bunged a splash in and its noticeable smoother and also doesnt fog everywhere up quite so much.
Any thought would be appreciated.
Cheers.

There was quite a thread on this recently, some tend too see a 'large' mpg increase others not a lot at all.
I tend to use a bottle of Forte cleaner every so often on all my cars (except dont use it on a D2) and it always does a good job.

Redex is on offer at Tesco at the moment. I've just tried it for the first time but too early to notice any difference. As you slide down the banister of life

Go for it....
The Redex Diesel Treatment works for me & I notice the difference in that acceleration being sharper the motor a whole lot smoother. I beleive the usual bottle of diesel treatment is a combination of fuel system cleaner with upper cylinder lubricant.....a trusted brand with a long history of fuel additives - not a magic potion / snake oil / quick buck company.
If you got Halfrauds its about £4..50 per bottle
Currently on offer at Tesco's at £1..50....I have bought half a shop full
My late dad who struggled with old & seen better days vehicles that transported us & Mum all over Dales & beyond were all given the Redex treatment to prevent smoke & reduce oil consumption......his belief was that Redex "would never harm an engine"....I would sincerely agree with this BREXIT - done properly.

Since I blanked off my EGR's I've been dropping a bottle in every couple of months. I thought it would help keep the emissions down, MOT is soon so time will tell.
I do believe the engine runs smoother & quieter but not sure on the fuel consumption?
Cheers

BUY THE LOT! It is £3.60 in Tesco here. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

I have used it for 30 years on all my cars its a great way to keep the engine in good condition.
When I worked for a living as a mechanic you could tell when I stripped down an engine that had this in the fuel, the wear on the engine was a lot less that those with out it.And the build up of carbon deposits was a lot less.
I would say use it , I am off to Silverstone soon so my tanks going to get a bottle of it.

Each bottle contains a number of "shots" depending on size. There are level marks moulded into the side of the bottle. Yeah, I checked that and it says it will do two 50l tanks of fuel, but I figured at a full 80+L tank, may as well put the whole bottle in.
The instructions are for the STD mix, but I have also read that you can double the mix to increase the cetane level with no detrimental effects.
So I get a mix of both Bodsys Brake Bible
D4/D3 Remote FBH heat kits
BAS Remaps/ EGR Blank
Transmission Flush
