How to remove the cylinder heads? |
|
After a lengthy conversation with the boss at Warrantywise I was left in a very confused state.
He is insistent that if a valve or piston needed to be changed you can gain access to the head to remove it by undoing the engine mounts and basically rotating it inside the engine compartment. The main dealer along with an awful lot of other people have said you need to remove the body, which is correct.
Having seen the space available I think I know which one I would go for, but has anyone else heard of this? Joined the BMWX5 45e group

I'm sure that there is less work involved in lifting the body, than trying to rotate a TDV6 unit in the engine bay!

What he said...
You could take the heads off with the body in place, but you know how easy the body comes off, its not worth the struggle TBH...
But, if WW ask, then its body off. I can edit my post if you guide them over here to check
And for what its worth, the TDV6 engine is taller, than it is wide. And it only just fits normally My D3 Build Thread
