removing tow hitch

the other day i bottomed out the rear tow hitch on the ground, and now experiencing a problem in trying to remove it.

inserting the key allows you to pull out the green buttom, and turn it 3/4 of the way, but no where near the full amount it use to go. it then does not allow you to move it any further, and it does not budge at all.

also there no give in the hitch, as if it jammed in position.

any suggestion of where I go with trying to remove it?

Try taping it sideways wile someone else tries to turn knob.
You could also try gentle taping with a brass drift the locking tab wile all of the above.
Be carefull not to make the situation worse.
Probibly the best option is to take it to the stealer and let him deal with it.
Also dont get a puncture as the spair wont come out with the tow bar in place.

I kick mine now and again to ensure it still rattles, thus will probably come out OK Wink

And the spare does come out fine Thud

I think what he meant by towbar is what I've shown, I assumed you guys mainly use the swan neck variant.

thanks for the feedback, I will give it a kick and try to see if it moves, otherwise off to the stealers to see if they can fix it under warranty.

As some of us find the towbar slackens a bit when we tow it might be worthwhile towing a good heavy trailer to see if your frees up?
