Replacement Battery (removal/fitting)
Was wondering whether there is anything i should look out for, when carrying out the above.
Any advice on procedure, step by step would be greatly appreciated...
Will i loose all settings/radio/seat setting etc ??
Also, does the battery breathing tube, just pull off at the battery end and slot into the new one...
Appreciate your help.
Regards
Andy

settings wont be lost if you do it in a reasonable amount of time ie dont go off an make a cuppa when its disconnected
breather tube just pulls off
very easy - disconnect earth first and then +ve
its a bit heavy but it just pulls outDuncan

Sorry to hijack, but I have had the "Special programs Off" a couple of times last week and this morning I had "HDC Fault" briefly.
They all clear, but this has concided with the cold weather and using the electric seats, D3 is 2005, should I be thinking about a new battery, how long does anyone reckon I've got ?? I have got a yellowtop on the otherside.
TIA

i have just replaced my original battery after 3.5 years - i wasnt getting any problems but it seemed to have quite a bit less power to start the car since the cold weather started, so i change it anyway.
starts perfectly now even after running the FBH for 40mins before I start the engine Duncan

Rik,
My car gives these messages since several months. Whenever the battery is poor or when the weather is cold.
My battery was having problems from about the second year of ownership. Also, My work is only 2km from home, so I do mostly very short trips with all lights on, so the battery did not get reloaded.
Therefor, i think You don't need to panic.
Invest in a Ctek charger and top it up if you experience problems.
