Key Fob weird issue

First thing in the morning the fob won’t unlock the doors. We use the passenger door lock and start the car and it’s fine, literally all day after that the key fob works perfectly locks/unlocks and starts the car fine. Next morning back to square one.

I tried this morning I got in through passenger door unlocked the other doors with dash switch, put key in ignition to stop alarm take it out straight away and remote locks the doors and works all day.

HELP 🤪🤪 I’m going insane.

Rechargeable battery in the key is dead. Recharges when it's in the ignition.

Edit - Key refurb service from forum sponsor. Thumbs Up

Hi

I had my both my key fobs stop unlocking the doors a month or 2 ago.

Check out this thread.

https://disco3.co.uk/forum/remote-locking-...54235.html

This faulty 3 wire splice definitely fixed my issue. The factory splice looked perfectly fine, but water must have got into it. Easy job, just need to remove couple of plastic sill covers on the passenger side (left had side of RHD car). My sill was full of water from a perished sun roof drain.

Someone else had a key fob not working on this forum a couple of weeks ago. I suggested same fix but don't know if it resolved it.

Cheers Blake

Would the key recharge in 10 seconds as that’s how long it’s in the ignition it then works all day

Non contact electric toothbrush charger such as an Oral-B

When I got my D3 the "spare" key was worn through on the buttons and probably not been used for months at least.

Got a new case, rebuilt the key but no response from the car. Balanced it on its side on the charging base leaning on the pole piece that goes in the base of the brush, turned it on and left it for a day.

Tried it again, doors unlocked, engine started, happy bunny.
