Replacing EGR valves - is it OK to use any manufacturer?

Going to replace my EGR valves as they have been stuck open for some time now,

All I need to know is if the cheaper NON OEM valves are ok to use?

Land Rover ones are so expensive & I'm not sure how much different they are!

Any help much appreciated

thanks

Why change them you have MY2005 car so just blank them and forget about them, search the board on how to blank them off and remove the butterfly valve.

Flack Thumbs Up

Thanks Flack,

Have considered blanking them but I am pretty sure this is majorly frowned upon with the new MOT rules that came in last year. If I have misunderstood this please educate me.

Thanks

you use blanking shims and leave the pipes in place.

If the pipes are still there the MOT testers are happy.

As Pete says, blank them and leave the pipes in place. You can't tell if they are working or not and the tester isn't allowed to remove any panels or covers etc to check. Thumbs Up

If you blank off the EGRs then does the ECU need to be coded o remove any error lights?
