Hiya Matty 2332

Thanks for the appreciative and supportive comment.

Given all the pre conceptions as to the difficulty in resetting the service Interval reminder typically provides, it is almost impossible to come to terms with something that not only fits inside an OBDII plug but also that can do it so fast, that if you blink you might well miss it.

But non the less, that is exactly what the Can Mate SRT does Whistle

I have no doubt that if we produced an MV version of it, most dealers would buy one for the time saving aspect alone.

I've just had my D3 given a full engine service by my trusted German indie but he couldn't reset the service light. I've just spoken to LR Doncaster to see how much it would be for them to reset it because there doesn't seem a way for me to do it manually and they said that they won't reset it because they didn't service it! I said 'so I have to live with the service light pinging everytime I get in the car, just because I've not had it serviced at the main dealer?' and they replied "yes"!

What sort of a bad joke is that? Do they expect people to take their D3's to the dealer in fifteen years time for a service?

So far, so good with regards Discovery ownership, but this is just a joke!

It's not a joke Sweetpea, it is actually electronically engineered in blackmail Whistle

For every legal move the EU takes to break the monopoly Vehicle Manufacturers have contstantly used to make everything to their advantage, they take a counter measure, often using technology to do that.

European Block exemption regulation BER1400/2002 made it a legal right for owners to have their vehicles servicable by absolutely anyone and stay within warranty as long as the official service sheet is signed off on. However this sheet states that if a warning lamp is on it must be investigated with Diagnostic equipment, which is an IF situation, however at the end the service reminder must also be reset which is an absolute requisite without which the service is unrecognised and invalid in respect of warranty.

That is why we produced the CAN MATE SRT.

After doing a service, the Indy simply plugs it in for a couple of seconds and Bingo, the reminder is reset according to your wishes, and your indie can now legitamatley sign the official service sheet, assuming no warning lamps are on.

You also don't need to worry about leaving it in the car for him, that it may go walkies, as it is locked to VIN and can only be used on your own vehicle.

It also offers a range of settings such that you can choose when your next reminder comes.

The CAN MATE SRT also costs much less than the difference in cost of having your vehicle serviced by a dealer rather than an Indy, and that is just for the first time you will use it.

Any in Plymouth?!

I have tried resetting the Service Indicator using the self-help procedure on my MY07 but with no success. This is the first time I have not had the car serviced at the main dealer (Roger Young Saltash) and it will only need doing once. To save a one off outlay of £55ish is there anyone in the Plymouth area that has a multi-vehicle set up that could reset it for me for an appopriate amount of remuneration?

Many thanks

AJ

Service Indicator Reset!

Just an update I thought was worth making. After having my service done at my local Kwik-Fit due to time and regional contstraints they admitted that they could not reset the service indicator. I was a little miffed but at least they were honest. Their advice was to get the indicator reset and bring the receipt back to them.

On a bit of a whim I ordered a CANMATE-SRT from BBS. Having received it and used it I thought I would be cheeky and take the receipt to Kwik-Fit. I took it in and they refunded the entire amount and told me that they are going to invest in some kit so they can do it themselves in future. Result!
