Resetting the service required indicator on dash D4 2009-
Dear all,
I've read on a post that it is necessary to buy a diagnostic computer OBD2 to reset the
service indicator. Several questions:-
1. Is this the only way to reset the service requried message
2. If 1 is yes, can anyone recommend a 'diagnostic computer' that is compatible with a
D4 TDV6 HSE 3.0 diesel 2009?
3. and where I might get this from?
Thanks,
Matt

You can but a CAN Mate Service Reset Tool from BlackBox Solutions which will do the job quite cheaply. Bodsys Brake Bible
I see there is a tool-free method of reseting the service indicator described on the Freelander site. It does not work on the D3, but there may be a different sequence of things that does. Does anyone know about this?
It looks promising as when the trip reset button is pressed with key in ignition but not yet turned on the display comes up with service info and then some codes.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Update
Looked on Youtube.
Open bonnet. Open drivers door.
Switch on ignition.
Now press and hold both fit brake and accelerator pedal down for 10s to 60s.
Turn off ignition.
Switch on ignition. Service indicator reset.
Works on disco4 09
