nev wrote:Sold my D4 this year March 2010,HSE, with extras, 25k miles for £27500...
Dealer offered 30k in part ex...but didnt want part ex..
It was the best price i could get, i guess now winter has fully arrived the prices will be firmer.
Either way, its the most i have ever lost on any vehicle....
But i enjoyed ownership (3rd one) of my D4...
What colour was it and what condition was it in. This sounds very very low. I was offered a deal by my LR dealer to trade our 2010 D4 HSE (18k miles and 20 months old at the time) for a new D4 HSE to the same spec and the cost to change was 10K.
Our D3 retained 60% of its value when I sold it at 4 years old with approx 44K miles. Current:
2014 RRS 3.0 HSE
Porsche 997 GT3
BMW 118d SE
Past:
D4 HSE 3.0 TDV6 Auto
D3 HSE 2.7 TDV6 Auto

Sounds like you got a pretty deal on that part exchange to pay £10k to upgrade after 20 months.....does look like Nev got a very low bid as car of his spec usually retails at Stealers for mid/high £30k region (and have to say put me off looking at brand new option as that sort of depreciation is too heavy on the pocket). But don't forget, he didn't go the part exchange route, it was an outright sale, as Stealers am sure are quite incentivised to promote trade-ins to improve new car sales figures/margins....

I purchased a MY 2011 Fuji White D4 Landmark LE SDV6 with 8k on the clock from LR approved last month. She cost me £38.6k and I was happy at the price with what I got, looks like new inside and out. Had a big grin on my face ever since
What do you think the residuals will be Nov 2013, 14 and 15?. My milage is pretty low circa 6k a year. Plan at the moment would be to keep her for at least 3 years.

Hi Marco,
Sounds like a decent buy. I would guess the landmark was bought brand new in the £47/50k range given its in b/w a GS and HSE in terms of spec.
Not as many landmarks around in secondary market so probably helps resale value.....would probably factor in £5/6k per depreciation on it (similar to what I would factor in for an HSE model) given the bulk of depreciation already occurred in year1. Suspect price you achieve would be majorly influenced (amongst other things) by whether you are going to trade in or sell outright (going by the experiences of others on thread).

Depreciation is the thing that I'm interested in - and as I'm not sure I've the time nor inclination to sell privately then trade in value is probably my main issue.

Hi
The Disco was Galway green, and in excellent condition, plus tow bar and a few extras
Above the HSE spec.
Land rover dealer wouldn't make an offer sold it to an independent in the end.
Needed a service and new set of tires. D4 HSE TDV6, Galway Green,

Need some help pls.....looking for any other data points on cost of trading in HSE bought from new for latest model with similar spec after 1yr and 2yrs ??
(useful to quote mileage on trade in car as well)
Also interested to know loss on 1-2yr old HSE if sold outright.
Wondering what my cost of ownership would be on a brand new HSE.
Cheers

Interested to know what people have been achieving on part exchange for 11 plate 6 and 8 speed models to trade up to a new model (i.e. what you paid on new car vs what you got on old) and also on outright sale to dealer (although latter will be small number I guess).
Thanks!
I have just swapped two 8 speed HSE in for a new RR. One was high spec 2011/61 with 17k and the other was nice spec 2012/62 with 6k. The dealer paid me £42,000 and £47,000 so have given me a new RR and a cheque for £3,000. The cars both cost £48k each so have held their value very well, way better than anything else in the price bracket.

Having had HSE 6 speed and now 8 speed have found much better fuel economy with 8 speed.
At present it is slightly better than the Freelander 2 I had inbetween nearly 30mpg.
The hesitation issue mentioned before on an eight speed I have not experienced though it was present on my 6 speed until sorted by the garage.I think this issue is unrelated to the type of gearbox fitted.
Mine was Jan 2012 at 42k just over a month ago, had looked at new and could not justify the extra 15k, dealers round here do not do discount and not many get more than 5%. Also have been some issues with delivery dates and build slots, but if your more patient than me the new model is a cheaper tax bracket and has been re tuned to cut co2 and be more efficent D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST
