Restricted Performance accelerating in Sport Mode

Hi Guys,

I have found that when accelerating hard in ‘S’ up a slight hill 30-70mph that I get a restricted performance warning and MY16 Landmark goes into limp mode. Once the engine is turned off and left for a while it self corrects. Can anyone advise what may be causing this? Is it the EGR valves?

Has any had this issue? How can it be fixed?

Hope you are all fit and well and a belated Merry Christmas/HNY!!

How long do you have to leave it switched off for? My initial thought was a collapsing intake hose but when my D1 had that problem it resolved once engine was back to idling for a few seconds.

About 15 mins I can start it up and no warning signs. TBH I haven’t timed it, just popped to the shops and then come back to the car and it was fine again.

Sounds like it could be a cracked manifold. Lift the engine cover and look for oil.

Any difference in engine sound on acceleration? Can also be a split in the top hose - similar to a split intercooler hose on a D3.
Also as the D4 has two MAF sensors the second one could need a clean

Cannot see any oil. But will check the manifold/hose.

Haven’t done any serious mileage over the last year. I don’t think it’s just sport, just under hard acceleration. Thumbs Up

I had very similar, although mine was not only in sport mode, and you could start again straight away.

Fix cost was about £8 Shocked

Turned out to be rubber O ring ot throttle body.
