Restricted performance and smoke from exhaust!!!

Hi all... Was towing my trailer today when I noticed a load smoke in the rear view mirror... thought it was a burst tyre or something so just stopped where I was, as I was on a country lane with no trafic etc and realised it was blue/white smoke coming from exhaust. As soon as I got back in disco there was a rerestricted performance warning on the dash!! i turned the engine off straight away and looked under the bonnet but didn't see anything obvious. Started car to pull it over to side of road and there was no smoke and warning was gone!!!

I then drove about 15-20 miles home without any issues!!!!

Going to call my local independent tomorrow but has anyone got any ideas what it could be?

Mine did exactly that - diagnosed as Turbo Shut Off Valve - but still having Restricted Performance issues - pressure leak suspected in the inlet system

It was about £650 - but AA paid out £500. Part was £513, 3 hours labour.

The noise was unmistakeable - whistling / whining noise (almost like a police siren) as air was pushed out through Air Box - is yours making that noise?

It may not be that though - could be a multitude (of cheaper) things (air leaks etc.) - and mine still has a problem - so I'm still worried Sad

No mine wasnt making any noise atall. No smoke again today either and drives like nothing was ever wrong with it.

Bloody Landrover's!!! Lol

Mine did that, tons of smoke and then all OK for a couple of weeks and then Restricted Performance - I'd definitely get it checked over - peace of mind and all that Thumbs Up

What MY is yours - quite a few popping up on here with Restricted Performance?

Appears to me though the warning covers a potential multitude of sins
