Retrofit fuel tank flap actuator
I’ve got a locking fuel cap but been searching to see if I can retrofit an actuator for the fuel cap and wondering if anyone would be so kind to tell me if this is possible please
Have on many occasions come back to the D3 where someone has opened the fuel tank flap, would just be nice if I could prevent it from being opened from the outside when the vehicle is locked
Many thks

The outside flap should lock.
But they do break.
Either motor or the plastic pin that goes into flap door.

Thks pete
Ah i see, so is the actuator fitted as standard then
Apologises I assumed because there wasn’t a switch inside the cabin is wasn’t electronically locked
Thks again and will check that pin out
As always an encyclopedia of information

You can access the motor and cable that operates the plastic pin from the rear side cubby in the boot.
If the plastic pin that locks the flap hasn't broken or been snapped then sometimes the whole assembly moves back and you need to cable tie it in place.
From memory there is a thread on here somewhere with pictures

Hi
Bless u for that and as always very helpful
Thought at first the actuator was only fitted in the HSE’s and not a base model like mine
Will check that out and have a proper look at the weekend and indeed see if it’s being pushed back
Thks again and will have a look for that thread

That is for the fuel door latch.
Not the locking function.
Could be GS issue though

Very interesting and possibly a reason why it sometimes doesn’t latch properly
Many Thks

Indeed could possibly be the issue of it not catching properly and not allowing it to lock correctly
