Started testing surround camera stuff to go in a mates car..

I already have surround cameras in mine , so wired in a new module and used my exsisting ccf to make sure in principle it will work ...which it did

Just need to set up his ccf for surround cameras then give them a quick test before the hard work of routing all the wires

Made up the connector which goes in back of screen and down to the camera module ...all working great

Car in bits (again )

taking power and can bus signal from diagnostic port for testing

surround camera module

just one camera fitted

reversing lines gererated by the module

Will this work in a d3 with a my10 screen fitted in it

@wiggs - can you retrofit a 2012 to take 2014+ cameras to work on the new 2014+ facelift bumper? I am having the hardest time figuring this out. Thanks

Price Surround View Camera retrofit

@ Wiggs
Hello I am new in this forum but reading since a few weeks trough different posts.
Can you or some one tell me what the surround camera retrofit costs (parts only) because this is the only option I am realy missing on my car. By the way, my car has the original rear camera allready installed. Can this be used directly for the surround camera system?

Thanks in advance
Martin

A bit of an old thread but I’m just trying to retrofit a 2014+ 6 pin camera system into my 2012 RRS using a 2016 module. The camera leads will be all 6 pin so should work fine. The only thing I’m having issues with is setting up the CCF file for surround cameras. I’m just wondering what option you selected in the CCF as I see nothing obvious. I’m waiting to hear back from GAP to see if they can point me in the right direction.

I’m assuming that something needs to be switched on or the BCM told to signal the IPMB-Camera module. The details shown in the photo are a demo from L319 2012MY. I’ve not wired in the actual module as yet so I don’t have any details showing in my ECU scan. I work on RAF Typhoons and normally when we fit a module, we load details into the AC which tells the AC to signal that module and test it.

It won’t show
On a scan untill
It’s fitted
I added it like others have and added the ecu into the ccf body control and got it showing as fitted on a scan but still won’t show the option on the Satnav screen even pat at gap don’t know why it won’t
A few on here have tried and none have managed it

Netherlands 2011 LR4 4.0 V6 Petrol HSE Auto Fuji WhiteLR4

Dear all,
New here with a LR4 2010.
I would like to start doing this project on my LR4 but I am collecting information before jump in ...

What I didn’t understood, I have never had this option previously so how can I find/connect the power and can bus on the camera module? Are they already pre wired the car under the seat? Please advise.
I have already fitted a revers camera. Easy job to-do.

Thanks
Bow down

I’ve been doing some digging and it is doable. I’ve done it in my my RRS 2012 so a 2010 LR4 could be different. My power lead was present upto the first connector and then the corresponding connector slot was empty. I researched the connector and bought the correct pins (I can help with that). Fed the wire in the loom and exited under the seat with the existing heated and electric seat loom. I bought the correct connector and pins off an internet site to connect to the module. The BUS solder joints for my car were under the sill on the rear passenger side (they are actually a crimp). I’ve fed the Earth cable along the cable channel to the correct earth point on the drivers side A pillar base. If you have reverse camera, that is now redundant as it’s a new camera and cable. The only useable part is the coax cable which you need to cut with enough cable length on the head unit side to connect to the brown FAKRA connector on the module (I bought a right angled FAKRA as per original design). You then need 2xM6 flange nuts to fasten the module (£1.40 on eBay for Stainless x 10 or £2 each for steel from LR). The cameras are V expensive at £100 each and you need 2 puddle lamp cameras, 2 bumper cameras and the special reverse camera. The cables are reasonably priced but you need the bumper loom, bumper to A pillar each side, A pillar to module each side, mirror to A pillar each side and then A pillar to module each side. You then need the module to rear camera cable which I think on the LR4 will be 2 cables also. When you’ve done all that you need to activate in the CCF which the GAP tool can’t do. I have a tool which can do it but it’s packed up so waiting for it to be replaced.

I’m experimenting with the later 6 pin cameras as they are much cheaper at £40 each but that requires a later module (I’m using a 2013 FFRR module instead of a 2012 RRS module).

These are awesome informations. I am only surprised that Gap is not going to work.
Please correct me if I am wrong, the camera module is only acting like a splitter. So if I put different kind of camera, would it show me something?
I am removing the seat from Monday to install the heated seat and will investigate the can wiring thingy.

Cheers
