Reverse whilst driving

Today whilst driving around at about 40 the car suddenly started to rev higher with no increase in speed. A million things ran through my mind in flash, mostly what the Censored has broken. Thinking that this sounds and feels like I'm in neutral I looked down at the rotary knob Laughing and it was flashing on reverse!!!!
Turned out my 3 year old that was up front with me had turned it.
I'd always wondered what would happen if you did it but never had the balls to try it.

Apart from slipping into neutral, no nothing happens. Quite surprised there wasn't a lock like the fact you can't turn it without your for on the brake.
