Reversing camera / dash cam
I have installed a reversing camera into the rear bumper of my D3 and was thinking of splitting the signal from this camera to go to an input of a dual dash cam.
Has anybody done this or would the signal become too weak?

There is a feed going to the screen on the dash for reversing, but I would like to record what happens behind me as well.
Like a dual dash cam, if that makes sense.

Yeah, I think I know what you mean. Do you mean you have two cameras but only one screen and you want to switch between cameras?
If yes, you want one of these video switches:
And with a lot of rework, you can turn it into this:

Sorry, don't think I make any sense at all.
I would like to use the camera in the rear bumper, with the signal cable split.
One signal feed going to the screen on the dash which switches on when I'm reversing, the other signal feed to a dual dash cam to record what happens behind me constantly.
I know what I mean, but I'm struggling to explain what I want.

Sorry, I'll try to be a bit more clear.
I would to get the image from the camera in the rear bumper to record on the dash cam and the screen in the car ( reversing) at the same time.

Why don't you just mount a recording camera ( Blackvue or similar ) next to your reversing camera then?
Or have I totally missed the point?Mods:

That would be an option, but that would mean two cameras and two cables.
Just wanted to make things easier....

2 cameras, 1 cable.
You would only have one cable as the recording camera doesn't need to have an output as it records directly to a micro sd card with a slot built in.
I have never seen a recording camera with an input to plug another source in. There's just no requirement to do it.
You'd be better off with a stand alone recording device and port the camera through it to your screen.
I have no idea how you would achieve this nor why you'd need to. Mods:
