rewiring plugs

Aux plug wiring.....hi fellas, wondered if anyone can help me here...Disco 3 old style radio, AUX switch but no socket.Tried everywhere, defo isnt there....now i seen the pinouts for adding to the back of the radio to wire it, BUT........i have not much idea on electric plugs etc , and i have no clue as to how to insert the wires in the pics below...

I dunno how to pin the plug 🙁. bought tons of crimps and connectors, unsure how to go on..
Have wired a AUX plug up ready with Left/ right channels and a ground, but unsure how to get the wires into this plug ....thx in advance

I’m sure GS will or someone will be a lot with the correct terminals to use.

As a trial you could bare the ends, double them over and shove them in the holes right to end.
Then cable tie them to the existing wire.

Hi

It’s normally best to get some de pinning tools , from basic ones to a bigger range

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R4..._PrefLoc=1

If u give @martin a shout he may have the correct pins for u, having them ur be able to then see how the pins are secured into the connector , with the de pinning tools it allows u to push the terminal pin tabs aside which will then release the pin

https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/member-martin.html

U can buy a loom that has the Aux socket already incorporated which is plug and play , I fitted mine in the temperature console , but see you’ve already made a loom up so just need to fit the the wires

As you’ve removed the red plastic cover, get a torch and shine it through the connector , u should then be able to see the small tabs that hold the pins in

Managed to find the pic I kept ref different ways the pins can come out

Hope that also helps a little

I think on these you have to move a plastic tab to the outside (front the front), and that then releases the metal terminal.

The metal terminals don't have a tab

Hi mate

I must be thinking of another connector that had small tabs holding the pins in , think that’s half the battle trying to work how they come out , lol
