Should ride in 05 Disco 3 be more bouncy than 10 disco4?

Hi

I have a loan MY10 Disco4 at present while the dealers finally replace my alterator (when one turns up).

Apart from the obvious engine and transmission improvements, the main thing, as far as driving is concerned, that I noticed is that it is much less bouncy (stiffer).

Should this be so or should I be looking at a supenssion problem?

I will miss the DAB when it goes back as I love 6 music.

Thanks

Paul

I don't know about "bouncy" but I find my 56 plate (87k) HSE is a softer ride than my previous 57 plate (25k) SE, or the new D4 I drove on the LR experience day I had.

When I say "softer", I find the front lifts under acceleration or pitches with braking and maybe it rolls a bit more on corners.

I just put it down to the shockers being a bit worn and suspension bushes gone softer on the older higher mileage car, I don't really see it as a problem - yet.

The suspension was tweaked for the D4 so you should notice a difference. Thumbs Up

I have an '05 and notice it is much softer than the loan 58/59 D3's.

Especially in corners mine leans much more than the newer models.

Thanks. I guessed that was the case. Funnily enough though, to start with I much preferred the D4 but after a while I changed my mind as I think the seats are less comfy and it doesn't feel like a proper 4*4 inside. It's more Jaguar than land rover I think. I like the agricultural feel to the knobs and buttons in the D3.

Is it possible to 'tweak' the suspension of a D3 to make it feel and handle more like the stiffer D4 ride?
